We are all professional trainers/facilitators in our careers (day jobs!) and professional photographers.  We have a passion for the art of photography and we would love to share this with you.

“Fantastic day with BLjNK Photography workshop, very helpfull hints with my photography” John from a previous workshop.

Natural Light Photography Workshop

Starting with an introduction to portrait photography techniques you’ll be able to try out your new skills in a hands on workshop.  Beautiful portraits don’t need a lot of equipment but being able to see how the light affects your images and how to make the best of a location can make all the difference to taking flattering photographs of models, family and friends.  We’ll be joined by at least 2 models (and maybe a dog in case you’re interested in pet portraits) and the workshop is designed to give you a sound foundation in portrait photography using the available natural light and your cameras in-built flash.

You’ll learn how to relax and pose your models, capture moving subjects and take candid shots.  Understanding how subtle changes in light can affect your shots and using custom white balance can dramatically improve your portraits.

At the end of this workshop we’ll have time to discuss your images and answer your questions.

All our courses come with a hints & tips booklet for you to take away containing course notes, do’s and don’ts and some projects to try to help your learning and further improve your photography.  There’s always 2 photographers with each group and numbers are limited so everyone gets some one-to-one time.  We pride ourselves on creating a really welcoming environment with fun, friendly and high quality interactive learning – all you need is a DSLR and your imagination.

Previous Experience:  To get the most from this workshop, we recommend that you have attended our Beginners Photography workshop or have a clear understanding of aperture, depth of field, focal point and ISO.

Street/Travel Photography Workshop

Perhaps you’ve heard about street photography but don’t know where to start, or maybe you’re not even sure what it is.  Maybe you’ve already been taking some shots in this genre but you’d like to know more, or you’re a complete beginner wanting to try something new.  Then this is the course for you.  It covers a lot of things you might want to know about from choosing a subject, to composition techniques and camera settings. There is no technical jargon in it, just simple, easy to understand information that will get you taking great street photos right away.

Street photography is a great hobby, it’s fun and you can do it everywhere, it can become part of your everyday life.  There is no restrictions with street photography – you can photograph a bit of everything – people, landscapes, objects and even details.

Please note : the very nature of street photography means that we will be out and about, we live in Scotland, it can rain and it can be cold. So please dress for the conditions and wear comfortable walking shoes.
